TSUNAMI MEMORIAL

Every idea is perceived as a chance to actively set oneself new challenges, sound out new frontiers and nevertheless remain true to the site.
Water from the existing drainage channel is stored in the reservoir built to store water for the stream and interior mirror pool.
During storms the reservoir has an overflow valve that redirects water back to the channel, preventing flooding.
The follies wind in the woods, directing the visitors towards the memorial, they are low scale timber roofed shelters with local flora/ fauna information.
Tracks along the memorial steps lead to semi-sheltered lookout points.
