MENDING THE LANDSCAPE :
The
proposal was generated from a series of interwoven pathways, represented
by elevated circulation corridors; that offer a visual link to the dune
and water systems in the surrounding. These corridors also connect the program
areas. The wetlands visitor center uses natural light and ventilation to
its advantage, allowing the cool breeze from the water to pass through the
building volume and the movable main facade louvre regulate the daylight
and glare, reducing energy consumtion by 1/3rd. This facility is designed
to top LEED standards setting an example for future tourist development
in the area.
