this page gives a brief pictorial introduction to bangalore, its road and infrastructure network and how the city expands(to green space) and contracts(to dense zones) and follows this trend as it grows outward (almost radially but organically) . The proposed international airport , for which about 3500 acres of land had already been acquired is about 35 miles north of the last suburb.
The study hopes to explore how this development would impact the green space, urban infrastructure and how bangalore (the city of gardens, as it is called) would/could still have its identity. There are potential open spaces that could further be developed to retain public space and as lung spaces for the city.
Would the city still sprawl or would a dense downtown mean a viable solution?......
